These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Moneycule ("we", "our", or "us"). By downloading, installing, or using the Moneycule app, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1 Definitions
- "App" means the Moneycule mobile application available on Android.
- "Services" means all features, functions, and content provided through the App, including cloud backup, AI assistant, and analytics.
- "User" / "you" means any individual who downloads, installs, or uses the App.
- "Account" means the user profile you create to access certain features of the App.
- "Subscription" means a paid plan (Essential or Pro) that grants access to additional features.
- "Content" means all financial records, categories, notes, and other data you enter into the App.
- "Idempotency" means the property of certain operations whereby they can be applied multiple times without changing the result beyond the initial application.
2 Acceptance of Terms
By using Moneycule, you confirm that:
- You are at least 13 years of age (or 16 in the EEA).
- You have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.
- You have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
- If you are using the App on behalf of an organisation, you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the App.
3 Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of changes by:
- Posting an updated version of these Terms with a revised "Last updated" date.
- Sending an in-app notification at least 7 days before changes take effect.
- For changes that materially affect your rights or obligations, we will provide at least 30 days advance notice.
Your continued use of Moneycule after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you disagree with the changes, you may cancel your subscription and delete the App before the effective date.
4 Your Account
4.1 Registration
Certain features (cloud backup, AI assistant, cross-device sync) require you to create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep it updated.
4.2 Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately at contact@moneycule.io if you suspect any unauthorised access to your account.
4.3 One Account per User
Each account is for individual use only. You may not share your account credentials with others or use another person's account without their explicit permission.
5 Permitted Use
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to:
- Download and install the App on devices you own or control.
- Use the App for your own personal, non-commercial financial management.
- Export your financial data in JSON format for personal use or migration to another service.
- You are solely responsible for the content, accuracy, and sensitivity of all information you choose to enter into the App. We do not review, monitor, or take responsibility for the data you input. You assume full responsibility for any consequences arising from entering sensitive, private, or confidential information into the App.
6 Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of the App.
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the App, our servers, or related systems.
- Introduce malware, viruses, or any other malicious code into the App or our systems.
- Use automated scripts, bots, or scraping tools to access or interact with the App.
- Circumvent, disable, or interfere with security-related features of the App.
- Use the App to process financial data on behalf of third parties on a commercial basis without our written consent.
- Reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, or exploit any portion of the App without our express written permission.
- Misrepresent your identity or impersonate any person or entity.
- Engage in any conduct that could damage, disable, or impair the App or interfere with any other user's enjoyment of it.
7 Subscriptions & Payments
7.1 Plans
Moneycule offers the following subscription plans:

7.2 Billing
Subscriptions are billed monthly through the Google Play Store. Payment is confirmed upon display of the in-app confirmation message. By subscribing, you authorise Google Play to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.
7.3 Automatic Renewal
Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. You can manage your subscription in Google Play Store → Subscriptions.
7.4 Price Changes
We may change subscription prices with at least 30 days' notice. Price changes will take effect at your next renewal after the notice period.
8 Refunds & Cancellations
8.1 Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time through the Google Play Store. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain access to paid features until then.
8.2 Refunds
Refunds are handled by Google Play in accordance with their refund policy. Typically, refund requests submitted within 48 hours of purchase are eligible for a full refund.

8.3 Free Tier
The Free tier is available at no charge and does not require a payment method. No refunds apply to a free account.
9 Idempotency & Data Accuracy
Moneycule guarantees idempotent data operations for all write actions within the App. This means:
- Each operation (creating a transaction, updating an account balance, logging a goal contribution) is assigned a unique idempotency key.
- If a network failure, app crash, or background retry causes the same operation to be submitted more than once, only the first submission is applied. Subsequent identical submissions are silently deduplicated.
- This guarantee protects you from duplicate transactions or corrupted balances arising from technical errors.
Scope of guarantee: Idempotency applies to operations initiated within the App. It does not apply to manual entries you make deliberately (e.g., entering the same transaction twice intentionally). You are responsible for the accuracy of data you manually input.
Limitation: The idempotency window is 24 hours from the original request timestamp. Operations retried after this window may be processed as new requests. In practice, the App will not retry operations beyond this window without explicit user action.
10 Third-Party Services
The App integrates third-party services including Google Play Services, Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Firestore), Google AdMob, and an AI language model provider. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.
We are not responsible for the practices, content, or availability of any third-party services. The inclusion of third-party integrations does not imply endorsement.
Specifically regarding Google and Firebase:
- Google Play Services are required for app installation and in-app purchases. See Google Terms of Service.
- Firebase services process diagnostic and analytics data as described in our Privacy Policy. See Firebase Terms of Service.
11 Intellectual Property
11.1 Our Property
The App, including its design, code, graphics, icons, brand name "Moneycule", and all content we create, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you.
11.2 Your Content
You retain full ownership of the financial data and content you enter into the App. By using cloud backup features, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process, and transmit your content solely for the purpose of providing the Services to you.
11.3 Restrictions
You may not use our name, logo, or branding without our prior written consent. You may not reproduce or redistribute the App or any part of it for commercial purposes.
12 Disclaimer of Warranties
Moneycule is not a financial advisor, bank, or regulated financial institution. The App is a personal budgeting and tracking tool. Nothing in the App constitutes financial advice, investment advice, or tax advice.
User Responsibility for Entered Data: You acknowledge and agree that you are solely responsible for safeguarding any sensitive, private, or confidential information you choose to enter into the App. The decision to input such data — including but not limited to personal identification details, financial account numbers, or any other private information — is made entirely at your own risk. We expressly disclaim all liability arising from your choice to enter such information.
THE APP AND SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that:
- The App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
- The results obtained from using the App will be accurate or reliable.
- Any errors in the App will be corrected.
13 Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, MONEYCULE EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL LIABILITY FOR ANY DAMAGES OF ANY KIND OR NATURE WHATSOEVER ARISING FROM OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE APP OR SERVICES. WITHOUT LIMITING THE FOREGOING, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY:
- Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
- Loss of profits, data, business, or goodwill.
- Damages arising from force majeure events (natural disasters, pandemics, government actions).
- Damages resulting from scheduled or emergency maintenance downtime.
- Damages resulting from your reliance on information provided by the App or the AI assistant.
- Damages arising from third-party service failures (Google Play, Firebase, etc.).
- Damages of any nature arising from sensitive, private, or confidential information you voluntarily choose to enter into the App. You assume full and sole responsibility for all such data and its consequences.
- Any direct, indirect, or consequential damages of any type whatsoever — including financial loss, reputational harm, or data exposure — resulting from your use of the App, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.
IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $10 USD IF YOU ARE A FREE USER.
Some jurisdictions do not allow exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.
14 Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Moneycule and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with:
- Your use of the App in violation of these Terms.
- Your violation of any applicable law or regulation.
- Your infringement of any intellectual property or other rights of any third party.
We will not seek indemnification for damages caused by our own wilful misconduct or gross negligence.
15 Termination
15.1 Termination by You
You may terminate your account at any time by deleting the App and, if applicable, cancelling your subscription through Google Play. You may also request deletion of your cloud data by contacting contact@moneycule.io.
15.2 Termination by Us
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App immediately and without notice if you:
- Breach any provision of these Terms.
- Engage in fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity.
- Attempt to circumvent security or access controls.
Where feasible, we will provide 14 days' notice before termination and an opportunity to appeal the decision. Users whose accounts are terminated for policy violations may be restricted from re-registering for a period of up to one year.
15.3 Effect of Termination
Upon termination, your licence to use the App ceases. Sections covering intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law survive termination.
16 Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation.
If a dispute cannot be resolved informally within 30 days, it shall be submitted to binding arbitration or, where arbitration is not permissible, to the courts of competent jurisdiction. Nothing prevents either party from seeking injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction to prevent irreparable harm.
